Safety Training for Construction and Trades

Most construction work now happens behind a gate, and the gate wants paperwork on what your crew has covered. These are short online courses, most about 40 minutes, done on a phone the night before, ending in a certificate with a verification ID a builder can check. Courses covering state-specific rules name the state in the lesson.

  • $39 to $59 a course
  • Most under an hour, works on a phone
  • Completion certificate with a verification ID

Will this get a worker through a site induction?

That is the builder's call and it depends on what they ask for. These are awareness courses. They are not accredited and they are not nationally recognised, so they do not replace a high risk work licence or a unit of competency from a registered training organisation.

What they do give you is a dated, verifiable record that a named person covered a named topic. Whether a site accepts that record is the builder's call.

Renovation, demolition and older buildings

Trades working on older housing and older commercial buildings meet materials that were ordinary when the building went up and are not ordinary now. The catalogue carries asbestos awareness alongside the general construction topics.

One course does not satisfy a mandatory training requirement in one territory. The site says so on that course and stops the sale until you have read the notice and told us which state you work in. We would rather tell you before you buy than after.
