What You Will Learn
Explain why moving vehicles, mobile plant and public traffic are among the most serious hazards on and near worksites
Describe how separating people from vehicles, using the hierarchy of controls, reduces the risk of being struck
Outline the purpose of a traffic management plan (TMP) and a traffic guidance scheme (TGS) and how they are used on site
Recognise key on-site controls: exclusion zones, spotters, high-visibility clothing, signage and barriers, and when each is appropriate
Identify the extra risks of reversing and blind spots, and the safe-work steps that reduce them

It is not accredited traffic controller or traffic management training, does not provide a Traffic Controller (TC) or Traffic Management Implementer (TMI) ticket or any equivalent statement of attainment and does not authorise you to control traffic, set out signs on a road or work as a traffic controller. Roles that direct or manage traffic require accredited training and authorisation under the relevant state road authority and WHS/OHS laws.
