Construction Site Safety Awareness (Pre-Induction)
A plain-English introduction for people who go onto or near construction sites but do not carry out construction work, office, estimating and admin staff, delivery drivers, clients, visitors and new starters before their formal induction. Learn what makes a site high-risk, how signing in and site induction work, the PPE you'll be asked to wear, the hazards to keep clear of (falls, mobile plant, excavations, overhead and underground services, noise and dust), how exclusion zones and directions work and how to report a hazard or respond in an emergency. This is awareness only. It is not the White Card and does not let you do construction work.

What You Will Learn
Recognise what counts as a construction site and why it is one of Australia's highest-risk workplaces
Follow the right way onto a site, signing in, site induction, authorised access and staying with your escort, and explain how this differs from a White Card
Identify and keep clear of the common site hazards: falls and open edges, mobile plant, excavations, overhead and underground services, noise and dust
Respect exclusion zones, barriers, signage and the directions of site personnel and spotters
Report a hazard, near miss or incident and respond correctly to a site emergency

Who This Course Is For
Office, estimating and administration staff; delivery and transport drivers; clients, consultants and other visitors; and new starters who need a grounding before their formal site induction. Anyone who steps onto or beside an active construction site without carrying out construction work themselves.
Accreditation: This is a non-accredited awareness course only. It is not a nationally recognised qualification, not an RTO Statement of Attainment and not a high-risk work licence. It does not authorise you to carry out any construction work. In particular, this course is not the White Card (general construction induction, unit CPCWHS1001 'Prepare to work safely in the construction industry'), that is separate, nationally recognised training you must complete with a Registered Training Organisation before you may carry out construction work. If your role requires you to do construction work, operate plant or hold any high-risk work licence, this course does not replace those requirements, speak to your employer or an RTO. It also does not authorise you to direct plant or a lift: anyone may raise a stop to warn of danger, but directing a crane operator in the movement of a load when the load is out of the operator's view is dogging work that requires a high-risk work licence and spotting and traffic control are the site's own named roles. Site rules, a site induction and the directions of site personnel always decide what you may and may not do on any particular site.
