What You Will Learn

  • Describe the main electrical hazards at work, shock, arc flash, burns and electrical fire, and how current affects the body
  • Identify the most common causes of electrical incidents, including damaged leads, overloading and contact with water
  • Use everyday electrical equipment safely, including inspecting leads and plugs before use
  • Explain in plain terms what testing and tagging (AS/NZS 3760) and residual current devices (safety switches) do
  • Take the correct action when equipment is faulty and after an electric shock, including notifying a serious incident
