What You Will Learn
Recognise how and why dropped and falling objects cause serious harm, including how impact energy grows with height
Identify the WHS duties that apply to preventing falling objects, including the primary duty and general plant and construction duties
Select physical controls such as exclusion zones, edge protection and toe boards using the hierarchy of controls
Apply safe practices for tethering tools and stacking or storing materials at height
Respond correctly when a dropped-object hazard, near miss or incident occurs on site

Accreditation: This is a non-accredited awareness course. It builds general awareness of dropped and falling object risks and does not issue a unit of competency. It is not a substitute for licensed or accredited training required for high-risk work, such as working at heights, scaffolding, rigging or dogging or for the training and licensing needed to operate plant like forklifts and elevating work platforms in your state or territory.
