Driver Safety and Safe Driving for Work

Learn how the law treats your vehicle as a workplace, then work through journey planning, distraction, speed, fatigue, pre-start vehicle checks and driving in bad weather, as paced slides with diagrams, quick self-checks and a real on-the-road decision scenario. What You Will Learn
- Explain how work-related driving is managed as a workplace under WHS duties, and who holds those duties
- Plan and manage a work journey so the risks are reduced before you set off
- Recognise and remove driver distraction, including safe practice around mobile phones
- Manage speed and fatigue: two of the biggest contributors to work-related crashes
- Complete a basic pre-start vehicle check and adjust your driving for adverse conditions

Mobile workers who drive as part of their job, sales reps, community and health workers, trades and fleet or light-vehicle drivers and the supervisors and managers who plan their work.
