What You Will Learn
Explain how the body manages heat and what happens when it can no longer cope
Recognise the spectrum of heat illness from heat rash and cramps through to heat stroke as a medical emergency
Identify the environmental, work and individual factors that increase the risk of heat stress
Apply practical controls such as work scheduling, rest, shade, hydration, acclimatisation and buddy checks
Provide correct first aid for heat illness and know when to call 000
