Recognise a medical emergency and know when and how to call Triple Zero (000)
Describe the DRSABCD action plan at an awareness level and where CPR fits within it
Explain the purpose of a workplace first aid needs assessment, first aid kits and trained first aiders under the first aid Code of Practice
Outline basic awareness-level response principles for common workplace injuries such as bleeding, burns, sprains and shock
Understand why this awareness course does not replace an accredited first aid course, and when accredited training is required

Accreditation: This is a non-accredited awareness course. It does not certify you in first aid or CPR, does not issue a unit of competency and is not a substitute for an accredited first aid course such as HLTAID011 Provide First Aid. Only complete hands-on training delivered by a Registered Training Organisation qualifies a person to act as a workplace first aider.
