Explain how welding fume harms health and how to control it through elimination, ventilation and respiratory protection
Select the correct eye, face, skin and respiratory protection for welding and allied processes
Describe how to prevent fires during hot work, including clearing the area, gas cylinder safety and a fire watch
Explain when a hot work permit is required and outline the WHS duties and AS 1674 requirements for safe welding

It does not provide a welding qualification, a trade certificate or any high-risk work licence and is not a substitute for competency-based training. Some welding-related tasks, such as hot work in a confined space or high risk construction work, require additional accredited training, a documented safe work method statement and demonstrated competency in your state or territory.
