What You Will Learn

Describe common machine guards and safeguarding devices, including fixed guards and interlocks, and what makes a guard effective
Outline the PCBU's plant duties under the WHS Regulations and the order set for selecting guarding

Respond correctly to a damaged, missing or bypassed guard, including tagging out and reporting the defect

It does not authorise you to operate any particular machine, and it is not a High Risk Work (HRW) licence or a substitute for the licensed, verified-competency or accredited training required in your state or territory to operate high-risk plant (such as forklifts, cranes, hoists or pressure equipment) or to carry out plant maintenance and repairs.
