Farming and Livestock Training Courses

Farms mix machinery, animals, chemicals, grain storage and visitors on the same property, often with seasonal workers who start in a hurry. These six courses give each person a plain-English grounding before they start, and give the business a certificate per person to show for it.

Farm and Agriculture Safety Awareness covers what most often hurts people on Australian farms, including quad bikes, side-by-side vehicles, tractors and machinery. The other five go deeper on one risk each: livestock handling around cattle, horses and sheep; grain handling, silos and confined spaces; agricultural chemical handling for people who work around chemicals but are not the accredited applicator; biosecurity for anyone who works on, drives onto or visits a rural property; and livestock transport and animal welfare for the people who move stock.

Each course takes about 50 minutes, runs on a phone and costs $49 inc GST. They are awareness courses, not accredited units, licences or chemical accreditation, and they do not replace a property's own induction.
