What You Will Learn
- Explain how infections spread through the chain of infection and the main modes of transmission
- Apply standard precautions as the everyday baseline, treating all blood and body fluids as potentially infectious
- Perform hand hygiene at the 5 moments using the right technique and the right product
- Select, put on and safely remove PPE, and recognise when transmission-based precautions are needed
- Clean and disinfect surfaces and manage spills, waste and linen to reduce the risk of spreading infection
